Message from the Executive Director
NB Filmmakers’ Co-operativeWelcome to the 10th edition of the Silver Wave Film Festival, the annual harvest of cinematic delicacies. SWFF turns 10 years old this year.
Reflecting on the changes in the filmmaking community since 1979, a great deal of growth and maturity has occurred. It would have been unthinkable back then to imagine a festival showcasing over 77 New Brunswick films produced in a year, but it is the reality today. It is truly amazing.
This year, we are proud to present so many wonderful films. In just 4 days, we will unspool over 100 films from New Brunswick and beyond adding a little more colour to our beautiful fall.
I hope you will have the opportunity to indulge your senses in the many films, parties and other activities at the festival. Finally, a tip of the hat to our wonderful sponsors, government supporters, volunteers and festival goers that make the festival sparkle.

The New Brunswick Filmmakers’ Co-operative is proud to present another stellar year of films, galas and workshops that are sure to entertain and delight film lovers young and old. The Festival is now entering into its 10th year. This year’s line up promises to inject vibrancy into the Fredericton community and bring laughs, thrills and sorrow to audiences everywhere. I am so proud to be part of an event that features so many
diverse NB talents and filmmakers.The Festival is a unique venue that showcases stories from New Brunswick and abroad. It’s an opportunity for audiences to see a wide range of funny, dramatic and thrilling filmmaking being made in New Brunswick and the Atlantic region.
The Festival could not be achieved without the hard work and support of the staff, board of directors, organizers, sponsors and the many volunteers who bring such an abundance of energy and dedication year after year! Most importantly, the Festival could not be successful without YOU; the viewing audience! Celebrate the magic that is film in New Brunswick. I look forward to seeing everyone out at the festival!
