Message from The Premier

As Premier of New Brunswick, I am happy to welcome all participants to the 10th annual Silver Wave Film Festival.

Again this year, the festival will celebrate the growth and success of New Brunswick’s film industry as well as provide an opportunity for industry insiders to connect with their peers
from outside the province.

Festival organizers have an impressive lineup of films that will no doubt lead to another successful event this year.

I welcome you to the 2010 Silver Wave Film Festival and encourage you to take full advantage of all that our province and the festival have to offer.

Shawn Graham, Premier

Message from Wellness, Culture and Sport

As Minister of Wellness, Culture and Sport it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the 10th annual Silver Wave Film Festival. The Government of New Brunswick is proud to
support this wonderful provincial event.

I want to thank the New Brunswick Film Co-op, staff, board, members and the many volunteers for making the festival a tremendous success year after year.

The film industry is important to our province’s cultural industries and will help us achieve our goal of self-sufficiency. The Department of Wellness, Culture and Sport, through New
Brunswick Film, helps filmmakers, producers, and crews hone their craft.

The Silver Wave Film Festival makes it possible to enjoy quality cinema from around the world, and productions created in our beautiful province.

Once again I congratulate and thank the staff, volunteers and sponsors for making this event possible.

Hédard Albert, Minister of Wellness, Culture and Sport

Message from the National Film Board

The Silver Wave Film Festival is a truly vital showcase for New Brunswick’s creative community, as well as a wonderfully programmed selection of film and video from the rest of Canada and the world.

The National Film Board of Canada is proud to support Silver Wave as part of our broader commitment to Maritime filmmakers and audiences, one that includes our award-winning NFB production centres in Moncton and Halifax. This year, the NFB is celebrating 70 years of excellence and innovation in filmmaking – we’ve been creating groundbreaking work in documentary, animation, alternative drama and new media since 1939.

To mark this anniversary, we’ve launched a new online Screening Room at NFB.ca, where you can watch and share over 1,000 NFB productions – part of our commitment to making NFB cinema accessible to Canadians everywhere. It’s a great new online destination for Canadian cinema. I invite you to stop by – and start watching. Have a great festival!

Tom Perlmutter, Government Film Commissioner and Chairperson of the National Film Board of Canada
